SUMMARY: The Program Manager, Cadet Core Curriculum, is an educator with proven teaching expertise in nonformal / afterschool settings. This professional develops activity guides, lesson plans, and assessments for the CAP Cadet Program’s core curriculum. This role includes developing new member orientation, leadership, fitness, and character content delivered by adult volunteers during in-person weekly cadet meetings. The program manager also develops learning experiences for web-based interactive content, explores partnership opportunities to enhance cadet learning, conducts webinars, and continually evaluates learning efficacy and member satisfaction.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise a team of 5 to 10 volunteers who assist in providing technical advice to the field and in improving products owned by the Program Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Instructional Design: Develop engaging activity plans and lessons that achieve age-appropriate learning outcomes in new cadet orientation, leadership, fitness, and character, with the materials being implemented by adult volunteers during weekly squadron meetings and monthly field days.

Program Management: Manage the Cadets at School program; assist middle and high school administrators in establishing the CAP Cadet Program on their campus as an afterschool club.

Learning Support: Serve as the Cadet Program’s resident expert on universal design for learning and special education accommodations. Support local leaders and families in making reasonable accommodations so that all youth can participate in CAP as an optimally inclusive environment..

Customer Service: Provide cheerful, prompt, and accurate front-line customer service and service-recovery, primarily via phone and email.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Fluency in Positive Youth Development constructs in an out-of-school-time context.

Competency in instructional design (ADDIE, Agile, or other prominent model).
-
Fluency in evidence-based approaches to youth leadership and/or character development.
-
Awareness of service-learning standards (NYLC standards).
-
Fluency in experiential learning (Kolb).
-
Awareness of universal design and special education accommodations (Federal IDEA).
-
Awareness of fundamentals of program evaluation, survey design, and quantitative analysis.

Proficiency with MS Office.
-
Familiarity with MS Teams and MS Planner is a plus.

Superb technical writing skills.

Proficiency in creating, delivering, and moderating webinars.

Effective public speaking skills in webinar and in-person settings.

Publication layout, typography, and general design skills are desired.

Prior experience in CAP Cadet Programs or another military-related youth program is highly desired.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in any field. (Master’s degree in education preferred).

Must have 2 years’ experience in project management.
