SUMMARY

Assist the Senior Program Manager, Operations Training (SPM-OT) in developing Civil Air Patrol's (CAP) national operations training programs and supervises volunteer program managers and staff. Assists in the development of policies and procedures for the training and deployment of CAP resources conducting operational missions. Assists in coordination with CAP and CAP-USAF operations staff and other directorates to address operational mission training requirements. Coordinates policies, program goals, and objectives with CAP leadership, USAF, and related agencies.

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree is required; master's degree preferred.

  • Operational training experience is required, preferably within Civil Air Patrol or the USAF.

  • Classroom instructor experience required; virtual training experience desired.

  • Experience managing flight training operations desired.

  • Minimum 1,000 total hours pilot in command time desired.

  • Knowledge of Civil Air Patrol's missions, requirements, and capabilities and ability to persuasively articulate Civil Air Patrol positions on a variety of operational issues are desired.

  • Incident Command System experience desired.

  • Command and General Staff experience desired.

  • Budget management and virtual team supervision experience required.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to a broad scope of audiences. 

  • Occasional travel is required.

  • High-level interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with people at all levels of the organization and across a range of different backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences.
