Job Title:  Program Manager, Small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) & AERONet
Salary:  $75,200
Location:  Maxwell AFB AL
Reports to:  Ronald Olienyk

Program Manager, Small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) & AERONet. Provides direct mission support and management for both CAP’s Small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) and the AERONet Program. Assists the National Technology Center’s (NTC) Senior Program Manager in providing technical support to these critical programs. Supports tasks, on a national level, where the use of Civil Air Patrol (CAP) sUAS and AERONet assets support DoD, federal, state, local and other volunteer agencies. Assists in providing CAP sUAS & AERONet mission support in all 50 States plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands. Provides, as needed, the maintenance, maintenance documentation, and technical support to the sUAS and AERONet Programs. Provides programmatic support for the sUAS & AERONet programs. Correlates data from various sources and interprets information from multiple databases to enhance technical support. Conducts shipping/receiving operations to support assigned programs.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least an Associate’s Degree or 60 credit hours from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education; Bachelor’s Degree or higher education preferred.

  • Requires at least three years’ experience in CAP or three years of comparable experience in similar organizations.

  • Must have commercial and/or government experience flying rotary or fixed wing sUAS, preferably both.

  • Must have FAA 14CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot certification.

  • Must have electronics repair and assembly training and experience.  

  • Three years’ teaching or training experience is required.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet short deadlines.

  • Must have excellent PC software skills to include Excel.

  • Must be able to work with individuals/units in the field with little or no supervision.

  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Incumbent must possess or have the ability to possess a Secret security clearance.

  • Some travel is required (short notice at times).
