Job Title:       Quality Assurance & Quality Control Program Manager

Location:       Maxwell AFB AL (Remote or Hybrid)

Reports To:    Mike Valdez, Chief Logistics Management Officer

FLSA Status:   Exempt

Salary:           $88,100

SUMMARY:  

Develops and manages the Logistics Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) programs for the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), covering aviation management and maintenance, transportation operations, property management, real property, mailroom operations, communications and technology, and warehouse management. Establishes directives, procedures, and standards to ensure that logistics operations meet the highest quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. Oversee the implementation of quality management practices across logistics functions, conducts audits and assessments, and facilitates training programs to enhance QA/QC processes within the organization. Additionally, develops a QA/QC program to measure the success of contract vendors, ensuring they meet performance expectations and quality standards. Collaborates with various departments to promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field. 

  • Lean/Six Sigma experience highly desired.

  • Senior level experience leading a QA/QC program.

  • Experience managing geographically dispersed and remote teams. 

  • Federal Grants, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) compliance experience highly desired.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to a broad scope of audiences.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data from various sources and generate insights and recommendations.

  • High level interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with people at all levels of the organization and across a range of different backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences.

  • A visionary mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for innovation and translate them into actionable strategies.

  • Certified Manger of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/QE) or similar nationally recognized quality certification.
