SUPPORT SERVICES COORDINATOR
An entry-level position for a project management professional
Civil Air Patrol’s Cadet Program provides an aviation-themed afterschool experience to 27,000 teens in 1,000 locations across the nation. Today’s cadets are tomorrow’s aerospace leaders.
We are in search of a Support Services Coordinator to administer subprograms that equip cadets for success (e.g., textbook distribution, uniform vouchers, scholarships, awards, etc.). The position may include opportunities for career advancement in the youth development/program management field. Recent graduates (any major), entry-level project management professionals, and experienced administrative professionals who are looking for bigger challenges are encouraged to apply. The key functions of the Support Services Coordinator will include:
tracking the status of educational projects in development by a 40-person team
processing $2M of invoices for prompt, accurate payment annually
booking all travel for team members
using a Content Management System to keep the website up to date
responding to customers via pitch-perfect emails or a businesslike manner on the phone
compiling and monitoring our team’s Key Performance Indicators
copy editing publications that reach a wide, diverse audience
providing general administrative support to the Director
The ideal candidate must possess:
High school diploma or GED required. College degree preferred. Must have two years’ experience in an administrative position. Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel is required. Prior experience with Adobe Acrobat, MS Teams, One Drive, and a content management system, is highly preferred. Amazingly organized and reliable with details: Must be ready to track the progress of forty different subprograms and for $2M in invoices to cross the desk annually, each requiring careful verification and prompt payment. Must have competent business writing skills, pitch-perfect email replies to customers and succinct, grammatically correct posts for our blog and social media. Familiarity with the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program and enthusiasm for positive youth development is a plus.
