Kristina E. Jones

Kristina E. Jones is an accomplished executive leader with over 25 years of expertise in strategic philanthropy, marketing, organizational development, strategic planning, programmatic outcomes, and advancing community impact. Dedicated to fostering diverse, high-performing teams, Jones has guided organizations toward sustainable growth by creating innovative programs, cultivating strategic partnerships, and aligning operations with long-term mission objectives.  

As chief growth officer for Civil Air Patrol and president/executive director of the Civil Air Patrol Foundation, she is responsible for CAP’s overall fundraising efforts, partnerships, marketing, government relations, and recruitment and retention efforts to support its key missions. Jones has been instrumental in revitalizing the organization’s fundraising and strategic planning, which has transformed both organizations' capacities.  

Jones brings more than 25 years of nonprofit administration and fundraising experience to Civil Air Patrol. Before her arrival, she served as a fundraising and organizational strategist, supporting nonprofit clients throughout the United States. She has conducted feasibility campaigns, strategic planning, and campaign management for multimillion-dollar organizations.

She served as Southwest Region vice president for organizational and executive development services/programs, operations, and leadership fevelopment for Boys & Girls Clubs of America in Atlanta. In addition to board and executive talent development, she led a multistate team to work with local clubs on resource/fund development, strategic planning, and organizational and program assessments. Her portfolio also includes positions as executive director for Alliance for Women & Children (formerly YWCA of Abilene), vice president of development for Sears Methodist Retirement System Inc., director of alumni and church relations with McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, and campaign director for United Way of Abilene. 

Jones holds a master’s degree in intercultural communications from Abilene Christian University and a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications from McMurry University. She is a certified fund raising executive (CFRE) and has earned certificates in fundraising management and organizational development from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and DePaul University, respectively. Additionally, she is a certified professional innovator (CPI) through the University of Michigan’s Innovatrium Project Mercury program. 

Jones has served on numerous boards at the local, state, and national levels. She is a graduate of Leadership America, Leadership Texas Class of 2008, a past member of the National Advisory Board for the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health and former vice chair of the Abilene Military Affairs committee lobbying on behalf of Dyess Air Force Base. She has participated in the National Security Forum at Air War College and completed two terms on the U.S. Air Force’s Air Mobility Command Civic Leader’s Council, where she served as a chair. She believes that engaging in dialogue, identifying possibilities, and creating pathways for America's future are essential, and she is fully committed to these endeavors.  

She and her husband, Craig, reside in Abilene, Texas, known for its beautiful sunsets.
