2022 Maj. Gen. Mark Smith JanEX Prize Competition

Major General Mark Smith

Maj. Gen. Edward Phelka is pleased to announce Civil Air Patrol’s Maj. Gen. Mark Smith JanEX Prize for Innovation.  This prize honors General Smith’s contributions to CAP innovation and continues his leadership focus on learning new ways to execute CAP’s mission.

2022 Theme is 100 Ideas in 100 Days

Submissions will be accepted through 30 May 2022

Ideas can be submitted by individuals on their own behalf or as part of a larger team using the 2022 Maj. Gen. Mark Smith "JanEX" Prize Submission Form 100 Ideas in 100 Days.  If an inventor has moved beyond the ideation stage and developed a product, they can submit their invention to HUBCAP and be eligible for this year’s prize.

Bronze, Silver and Gold prizes will be presented to the top 3 submissions at the 2022 National Conference in Louisville, Kentucky based on their impact and benefit to CAP mission execution.  Categories include prizes for the inventors, for the wings of each of the winning submissions for their support of innovation, and regions in the case where a team of inventors collaborates across 2 or more regions.
