AD 2009-02-03 Precision Airmotive LLC and Bendix

February 2, 2009

The FAA has issued AD 2009-02-03, Precision Airmotive LLC and Bendix.

A brief synopsis of the AD follows; however please insure the entire contents of the AD are followed upon compliance.

This AD supersedes AD 2008-08-14 and becomes effective February 9, 2009. It calls for another inspection of the fuel injection servo plug and gasket for engines with a Precision Airmotive LLC, RSA-5 or RSA-10 series, or Bendix RSA-5 or RSA-10 series fuel injection servo.

Before further flight, inspect the fuel injection servo plug, P/N 383493, for looseness by attempting to turn it by hand. If the plug moves it is loose. If the plug is loose the AD calls for the replacement of the servo plug gasket P/N 365553 with a new gasket P/N 2577258.

For aircraft with servo plugs that pass inspection with servo plug gasket P/N 365553 installed the plug has to be re-inspected each 50 hours of engine run time until the new improved gasket P/N 2577258 is installed. The new gasket must be installed by December 31, 2009. The new plug gasket will terminate the repetitive inspection. Shops may purchase the new gasket P/N 2577258 from Aviall.
