How to become a CAP driver

To become a CAP driver, please read and understand CAPR 132-1 (CAP Vehicle Management), especially chapter 7 (Driver Permissions and Responsibilities). This regulation covers everything you need to know when it comes to managing, operating, reporting, and the policies regarding CAP vehicles. As a CAP driver, you are responsible for knowing the information contained within it. Furthermore, knowing this information will only assist you when it comes to vehicle issues.  

 

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE:

As this process is not outlined in the regulation, this guide is to help you understand how to obtain your CAP driving permissions and become a CAP driver. CAP does not issue driver's license, that is a state requirement. However, having CAP driving permissions are required to operate a CAP vehicle.
