How to get vehicle modifications/add-ons.

INFO:

CAP/LGT defines vehicle modification as any change to a vehicle that alters the original configuration or affects the primary structure, hydraulic power system, load-bearing capacity, steering, braking capability, positive control features, lifting, power train or restraint systems of a vehicle. Vehicle add-ons are any aftermarket accessories or equipment that are not part of the vehicle’s original configuration when originally received from the manufacturer. All COV modifications and add-ons require prior approval from CAP/LGT. All requests should be routed through the unit’s respective wing/region LG or commander. Include CAP/DOK in the routing of communication equipment modifications (vehicle radios, antennas, wires, etc.). Request should have the make, model, specifications, and diagram of the item being installed on/in the COV. Funding for any modifications or add-ons, except for communication equipment, is the responsibility of the assigned wing/unit. Once approved, the wing/unit is also responsible for the funding on the maintenance, upkeep, repairing, service, and replacement of these items.

Any modification or add-on to a vehicle done without CAP/LGT approval will not be reimbursed and may be tasked for removal.

Once the request is approved, the services can be completed and approval will be uploaded in the vehicle's record in ORMS.

BASIC ISSUE ITEMS (BII)/ADDITIONAL AUTHORIZED ITEMS (AAI):

BIIs are items that come already on the vehicle or will be supplied by CAP/LGT. These items will be funded by CAP/LGT when they need repairing or replacement. AAIs are additional items that CAP/LGT can authorize to be installed in/on COVs, like modifications/add-on, which are wing/unit funded.

Below is a table of common items installed on vehicles and who funds them.

*Approval is still needed on all items being installed on a COV, even if CAP/LGT is not funding the item.
