Membership Card Photo Guide

The following guidelines outline the requirements for your eServices photo, which will be used for your CAP photo membership card and CAP Form 101 Specialty Qualification Card.

After you upload your photo into eServices, your photo will be automatically sent to your commander for validation prior to use. If it is rejected for any reason, you will receive an e-mail notification explain why it was rejected.

Suggestions for taking your photo

We recommend using "Portrait Setting" on camera.
You can also try taking your picture vertically instead of horizontally.
Photo size should be around 500 kb

CAP Photo Guidelines
Example of a perfect photo for the membership card or CAP Form 101	Photos must: Be in color Have a white or off-white background Feature a full-face view directly facing the camera with your eyes open Have your head centered in the photo Sized to capture just above the top of the head to the bottom of the neck line. Be in normal attire or CAP uniform Taken within the last 12 months Not include sunglasses or darkened transition lenses Preferred electronic photo format is .jpg. However, .png and .gif is acceptable

Photos must:
- Be in color
- Have a white or off-white background
- Feature a full-face view directly facing the camera with your eyes open
- Have your head centered in the photo
- Sized to capture just above the top of the head to the bottom of the neck line.

- Taken within the last 12 months
- Not include sunglasses or darkened transition lenses
Preferred electronic photo format is .jpg. However, .png and .gif is acceptable

eServices Photo Uploading Instructions
1. Login to eServices 2. Click on Administration in the left menu 3. Select Photo Upload from the menu that appears 4. Click the "Choose File" button, then navigate to the photo on your computer or device. Double-click the photo. 5. Click the "Continue to Crop" button 6. Click and drag the diagonal corners to expand the highlighted box to full size. You can then click and drag the box to center your face in the photo 7. Click " Crop photo" to save your photo. This will automatically save your photo to your record and send a notification to your squadron commander. He or she will need to validate the picture before it appears in your eServices record PLEASE NOTE - CAPR 39-2 ,1.15.2. Active members, fifty year members, life members, legislative members and cadets 18 and over will receive a photo membership card.
