Senior Member Scholarship Opportunities

Welcome to the CAP Senior Member Scholarship Program

We are excited to offer a range of scholarship opportunities to support the educational and professional development of our members. Our scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance for various types of training and higher education pursuits. Below, you will find detailed information about the scholarships currently available.

Current Scholarships

1. The Cooper Scholarship

The Cooper Scholarship is designed to subsidize the cost of CAP Senior Member training and/or education. The primary focus is to fund education and training directly applicable to CAP, with priority given to CAP-specific trainings. Additionally, this scholarship can support continuing education at accredited institutions for senior members.

  • Application Period: Open now, closing date 11/30/2024. Intended award announcement date is mid-December 2024.
  • Eligibility: Current active Senior members serving as a staff member in their unit.
  • How to Apply: Complete the application via the following Cooper Scholarship Form

 

2. The Col Carolyn Guertin Scholarship

This scholarship is specifically available for those in need within the Civil Air Patrol or their families. It aims to provide financial assistance to ensure that all members and their families have the opportunity to pursue their educational goals.

  • Application Period: Anticipated to open early December 2024.
  • Eligibility: Civil Air Patrol members and their families

 

3. The Dr. Mark Kukucka Scholarship

The Dr. Mark Kukucka Scholarship supports Civil Air Patrol members aspiring to pursue master’s or doctorate level studies at accredited institutions of higher learning. Eligible recipients include organization cadets or current CAP senior members who were affiliated with a unit in the Maryland Wing during their cadet years and can provide documented evidence of such association. Recipients of this scholarship will be recognized as “Kukucka Scholars” and may apply for multiple funding cycles.

  • Application Period: Anticipated to open early January 2025.
  • Eligibility: Organization cadets or current CAP senior members with documented affiliation to a Maryland Wing unit during their cadet years.
