We’ll honor CAP’s best wings, programs, and people with national awards and close Saturday night with the Commander’s Reception—a celebration of the connections, collaborations, and experiences that make this conference truly unforgettable.
2026 National Conference Keynotes
Maj Taylor Hiester
USAF F-16 Viper Demonstration Team Commander and Pilot
From CAP cadet to U.S. Air Force demonstration pilot, Maj. Taylor “FEMA” Hiester’s journey is a powerful example of where dedication and determination can lead. A former Civil Air Patrol cadet who rose through leadership positions in the Pennsylvania Wing, he now commands and pilots the U.S. Air Force F-16 Viper Demonstration Team, showcasing the capabilities of the Viper before millions of spectators worldwide. Maj. Hiester’s story highlights the leadership, teamwork, and perseverance that CAP strives to develop in every cadet. Join us to hear firsthand how one cadet turned a childhood dream of flying fighters into an extraordinary career.
Joseph Acaba
Associate Director of Mission and Strategy, Johnson Space Center
Join us for an inspiring keynote from former NASA astronaut Joseph Acaba, whose remarkable career has taken him from the classroom and the Peace Corps to three missions aboard the International Space Station. With 306 days in space, multiple spacewalks, and a key role in some of NASA’s most significant milestones, Acaba brings a unique perspective on leadership, exploration, and perseverance. Now serving as Chief of NASA’s Astronaut Office, he now helps shape the agency’s future human spaceflight strategy. This year’s National Conference learning sessions place a special emphasis on Cadet Programs, with a spotlight on Safety, Health Services, Chaplain Corps, Legal Corps, and Inspector General topics. At the same time, the conference offers a wide variety of sessions designed to provide valuable learning opportunities for members across every role and mission area within CAP.

Cadet Tracks 
New this year, National Conference is introducing Cadet Tracks—learning experiences designed specifically for cadets. These cadet-focused sessions offer engaging opportunities to build leadership skills, explore future careers, and prepare for what comes next alongside cadets from across the country.
Cadets 12-20: Standard Track
The Standard Cadet Track gives cadets the flexibility to choose sessions that match their interests and goals. With topics ranging from leadership and career exploration to aerospace and STEM, cadets can build practical skills while exploring new opportunities in a cadet-focused environment. Cadets18+: Transition Track
Designed for cadets 18 and older, the 18+ Transition Track supports cadets who are beginning to look ahead to their next chapter. Cadets in this age range can choose to participate in the Standard Cadet Track or the adult learning sessions alongside senior members. Departmental Updates: What’s New Across the Organization
Saturday, August 29, 2026, 1:45PM-2:30PM
New this year, connect directly with National Headquarters personnel during the departmental update, where each team will share what’s new, what’s evolving, and what’s on the horizon within their area. These sessions provide a deeper look at current initiatives, shifting priorities, and upcoming changes, along with opportunities to ask questions, gain clarity, and stay informed about the work shaping the organization. Each session is open to everyone.
Saturday, August 29, 2026, 2:30PM-3:00PM – Office Hours
Following each session, the national team will remain available for 30 minutes of informal office hours to continue the conversation and answer additional questions.
