Cadet Tracks Registration Details Chaperones Extra-Curriculars

Welcome to your go-to guide for everything cadets and adult chaperones need to know for National Conference. This page includes important details about registration, cadet tracks, extracurricular activities, and supervision requirements to help you prepare for a safe, engaging, and rewarding experience. Whether you’re attending as a cadet ready to learn and connect, or as a chaperone supporting that journey, you’ll find everything you need right here.

Cadet Tracks

New this year, National Conference is introducing Cadet Tracks—learning experiences designed specifically for cadets. These cadet-only sessions put cadets at the center, offering meaningful, engaging content tailored to where they are now—and where they’re headed next. Whether you’re focused on building leadership skills, exploring future careers, or preparing for what comes after cadet life, Cadet Tracks give you the chance to learn, connect, and grow alongside cadets from across the country.

Cadets 12-17: Standard Track

The Standard Cadet Track offers cadets the flexibility to choose sessions that match their interests and goals. With session topics spanning leadership development, career exploration, aerospace, and STEM, cadets can dive into areas that inspire them while gaining practical skills they can apply immediately. This track is ideal for cadets who want to explore, learn, and expand their horizons in an engaging, cadet-focused environment.

Cadets18+: Transition Track

Designed for cadets 18 and older, the 18+ Transition Track supports cadets who are beginning to look ahead to their next chapter. Cadets in this age range can choose to participate in the Standard Cadet Track or step into adult learning sessions alongside senior members. These sessions are geared toward understanding senior member roles, responsibilities, and opportunities—making this track a great fit for cadets preparing to transition, explore leadership beyond cadet life, and envision their future within the organization.

Cadet Registration Details

Cadet Registration Required – No Walk-Ins

This year, cadet walk-in registrations will not be accepted. Because National Conference is offering dedicated cadet-only sessions and cadet-focused learning experiences, all cadets must be fully registered in advance to participate. Walk-in registration will not be available for cadets.

Cadet participation will be limited to ensure a high-quality experience, so early registration is strongly encouraged. Registering in advance secures your spot in cadet sessions and ensures proper planning, supervision, and access to all cadet programming. If you plan to attend as a cadet, be sure to complete registration ahead of time—don’t wait and risk missing out!

Extra-Curriculars

Career Connections

This year’s National Conference is launching a Career Directory that connects cadets directly with senior members working in a wide range of professional fields. Cadets can browse the directory to explore different careers, see real job titles, and identify senior members who are open to sharing their experiences during free moments at the conference. It’s an easy, low-pressure way to ask questions, hear real stories, and start conversations that could shape future goals.

Senior members—this is your chance to make a meaningful impact. By opting in during registration, you’ll be listed in the Career Directory with your career field and title, signaling that you’re open to connecting with cadets during the conference. A short conversation can spark curiosity, offer clarity, or inspire a cadet’s next step. If you’re willing to share your journey and engage with cadets, we invite you to opt in and be part of this powerful learning experience.

Cadet Chaperone Requirement

To ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone, all cadets attending National Conference are required to have an identified adult chaperone for the duration of the event. This chaperone may be an adult leader or a parent/guardian, whether or not they are a CAP member. Cadets must list their designated chaperone during the registration process.

Adult chaperones are responsible for cadet supervision throughout the conference, especially during downtime. If you are chaperoning cadets, you are responsible for your associated cadets for the entirety of the conference. This includes but is not limited to: staying at the same hotel or accommodation as your cadets, observation of medication self-administration, and overall supervision. While line of sight supervision is not required per CAPR 60-2, all chaperones must be able to respond promptly in case of emergency.

This structure helps maintain appropriate supervision while allowing cadets to fully engage in the conference experience. Please review this requirement carefully and plan accordingly before registering.
