AFA - The Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) and CAP have maintained a long and outstanding partnership to synergistically promote aerospace/STEM education since 1996. Please click here for more information about this reciprocal partnership that benefits AFA, CAP, and our country. The AFA provides all CAP members who are not a member of the AFA a complimentary two-year e-membership, as found HERE. Members can find their closest AFA chapter at AFA Chapter locator map.
AFJROTC - CAP provides complimentary AE memberships to Air Force Junior Reserves Officers' Training Corps (AFJROTC) instructors to perpetuate the AE mission of the USAF and CAP. AFJROTC instructors are offered the opportunity to apply for CAP's STEM Kit program and take advantage of all AE products and programs. AFJROTC cadets are also provided orientation flights by CAP. AFSA - The Air Force Sergeants Association has offered to provide mentors for CAP cadet AE and leadership programs. The AFSA also provides a National CAP NCO Cadet of the Year Award, and a squadron-level NCO cadet award, as seen HERE.
AOPA - The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association has opportunities for CAP pilots and aviation groups. Additionally, the AOPA Foundation includes a You Can Fly aviation/STEM education program with which CAP works collaboratively to provide resources and programmatic materials for high school educators.
AAS & SW - CAP provides Air Force ROTC's Arnold Air Society (AAS) and Silver Wings (SW) teams across the nation with Aerospace Connections in Education (ACE) materials, special certificates and plaques, and instructional manipulative items to support the college students' efforts in their national STEM Outreach Program.
Air Force STEM Office - CAP is working with the AF STEM Office at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH, and their STEM representatives on each AF installation across the nation to provide resources and support in their STEM outreach initiatives. CAP was a recipient of a 2013 National Defense Education Program (NDEP) grant for the creation of the nationwide CAP STEM Kit program.
AGI - Analytical Graphics, Inc., provides a free license for Satellite Tool Kit (STK) to any CAP member. CAP provides online STK lesson plans for units and educators that complement the STK program.
AMA - Click here for the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) membership information. AMA and CAP signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in 2011 and continues that partnership. Check out the 9-minute video clip showing the signing and information about CAP. CAP is promoting AMA's remote control aircraft program to CAP members, as well as its UAS4STEM drone engineering competition. The Model Airplane and Remote Control (MARC) program is available and includes many R/C lesson plans for use in schools or squadrons.
DoD STARBASE - CAP and STARBASE promote each other's organizations with their educator programs.
EAA - CAP works with the Experimental Aircraft Association on many collaborative initiatives that involve "flying youth." Did you know? When cadets complete their first CAP orientation flight, EAA will honor this flight and enroll the cadet into the Young Eagles Flight Plan. EAA also provides CAP with the facility in Oshkosh, Wis, which supports CAP's national cadet special activity, National Blue Beret. EAA and CAP education divisions work to support each other's programs.
FAA - CAP provides free TOP flights, workshop sessions, and materials for educators who work with Departments of Transportation- Aviation, under the auspices of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aviation and Space Education (AVASED) office. The FAA and CAP signed a renewed MOU in 2011 to revitalize the collaborative efforts to promote aviation education. Each organization continues to promote educational opportunities of the other through website and social media outlets.
FLIR Systems, Inc. - FLIR (the world leader in design, manufacture, and marketing of thermal imaging infrared cameras) has been a sponsor of CAP's Aerospace Connections in Education (ACE) Program. CAP appreciates FLIR's support for youth aerospace education.
Lightspeed Aviation Foundation - Lightspeed Aviation Foundation has provided annual $10,000 grants to support the CAP K-6 Aerospace Connections in Education (ACE) program starting in 2010. Selected as a nominee for these grants by the Lightspeed Aviation Foundation, the pilot community provided popular vote determining grant recipients. CAP has been proud to work with Lightspeed Aviation in the flying programs of CAP and for their support of CAP's youth aviation outreach programs.
Middle Tennessee State University- MTSU and CAP have had a long history of partnership wherein MTSU and CAP conduct Aerospace Education programs for CAP educators and cadets. A renewed partnership MOU was signed in April 2014. Click HEREfor signing video.
NAR - CAP promotes and supports the National Association of Rocketry. NAR can get individuals connected to the cutting edge of the hobby so they can learn how to fly higher, faster, and better. NAR members get: access to launch sites through local NAR clubs, a bimonthly magazine, insurance coverage for flights, and certification for high power rocket flying. Additionally, NAR provides support for the largest student rocketry contest on Earth (the American Rocketry Challenge), hundreds of other NAR contest launches, free materials including an e-newsletter and handouts for teachers, a self-paced rocketry skills and training program available to try for free before purchasing, and dozens of specialty products. NASA - CAP promotes National Aeronautics and Space Administration products and programs.
NCAE - The National Coalition for Aviation Education is a collaborative organization, of which CAP is a member, promoting aviation and space education and workforce development.
NSTA - CAP provides free TOP flights, workshop sessions, and materials for educators working with state science teacher associations under the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA).
Real World Design Challenge- CAP promotes the Real World Design Challenge to CAP's cadets and educator members nationwide. CAP members are encouraged to form and mentor teams of cadets and/or students in grades 9-12, working through the office of the state's Governor or Lt Governor.
SEEC - Each February, Houston Space Center, the official visitor center of Johnson Space Center (JSC), hosts the annual Space Exploration Educators Conference (SEEC) in Houston, Texas. CAP provides educators in attendance the opportunity to attend AE workshop sessions and/or half-day Teacher Orientation Program (TOP) Flight sessions at the conferences. SEEC promotes CAP as a conference sponsor.
State Departments of Education - CAP provides TOP flights, workshop sessions, and materials for educators; has assisted the Southern Region Education Board with development of an AL high school Aerospace Engineering technical course and has been requested to offer CAP’s ACE program to elementary schools to prime students’ desire to enter the AE track in high school.
US Science and Engineering Festival - CAP has contributed as a Volunteer Outreach Team sponsor and provided AE materials and programs for youth at the national festival in Washington, D.C.
USSRC - At the US Space & Rocket Center (USSRC) in Huntsville, AL, CAP provides Teacher Orientation (TOP) flights, workshop sessions, and materials for teachers from across the nation attending select weeks at the summer Educators Space Camp.
