2026 National AEO School Registration

Registration and Selection Process:

From March 18 through March 31, any AEO at any level who is interested in applying to attend the 2026 National AEO School will need to complete the online application in Registration Zone located in eServices. This will be the first of four stages in the registration process, all of which are described below:

Stage 1: Registration for Alternate (Preliminary) Attendee List

Registration Zone will be open from March 18 through March 31 for AEO School. Selection for slotting is based on the following criteria:

*The AEO School Application

  • Questions about time and experiences in CAP will be on this application. These questions will assist the AE team in the selection process. Each question on the form will help the team build an audience from various ratings. Criteria for participating is built on a variety of experiences and tenure.

*Additionally, the following data from eServices will be evaluated:

  • Number of National AEO Schools attended

  • Time in CAP

  • Time in Current Rating

  • Time assigned as an AEO/Assistant

Stage 2: Applicant Slotting (Selection) Process

After Registration Zone closes on March 31, the AE team will begin the slotting process for AEO School attendee selection. During the slotting process, the AE team will have access to an AEO's details from eServices, excluding the AEO's name and unit identifier, as well as all information gathered from the application (with CAP ID#s as the only identifier).

Stage 3: Registration Selection

After April 10, all AEOs who applied for AEO School attendance will be notified whether or not they were selected for Stage 3 of the Registration process.

The highest slotted AEOs will receive an e-mail requesting further information to move forward in the registration process.

All other applicants will receive information that they were not selected for attendance this year and will remain on the Alternate List. Alternate AEOs should remain attentive for a possible e-mail to invite them to attend if others decline to accept the invitation to attend AEO School.
