Teachers Learn About, Join CAP AE Program At Space Exploration Educators Conference
The annual Space Exploration Educators Conference at Space Center Houston in February gave educators a chance to hear about and join Civil Air Patrol as an Aerospace Educator Member. National Headquarters staff presented sessions on CAP's STEM Kit Program and the Aerospace Connections in Education (ACE) Program and offered TOP Flight sessions. At the STEM Kit session, teachers worked in groups with the Bee-Bot programmable robot, one of 15 STEM Kits the Civil Air Patrol offers to its senior members as well as to AEMs (a special membership category for educators). At the ACE session, educators worked with hands-on activities, such as finger rockets, that are provided to teachers who sign up for that program. In addition, the Texas Wing flew 45 teachers over the course of the conference from flights originating out of Ellington Field
