Educators, reach out to local squadrons for assistance teaching, field trips, and more

Local squadrons are eager to assist Aerospace Education Members in their classrooms. Here are some of the added benefits to your membership that connecting with your local CAP squadron can provide. Aerospace Connections in Education (ACE) Plus is a national-level program connecting Civil Air Patrol squadrons to middle school classrooms (5th-8th grades). ACE Plus requires multiple classroom visits using ACE materials. But outside of the ACE Plus program, squadron connections like the ones utilized in ACE Plus can also be made with students in all grades if that is a better fit for your classroom or you do not teach Grades 5-8. SQUADRON-CLASSROOM CONNECTION OPPORTUNITIES:

• Squadron cadets and Aerospace Education Officers can teach, or assist with, ACE lessons in your classroom.

• Cadets can introduce the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program to students in 5th-8th grades. 

• Squadrons can help to coordinate a field trip to your local airport or aviation museum.

• The Aerospace Education Officer can help coordinate a Teacher Orientation Program (TOP) flight.

• Squadrons can assist in presenting the end-of-year ACE certificates to your students.
