Aerospace Education Excellence Award
CAP's Aerospace Education Excellence (AEX) Award Program is available for both units (Senior Members who are AE officers in squadrons) and for CAP educator members (both AE members and squadron members who are educators).
UNIT AEX:
This award is presented to units that participate in an activity-based, voluntary aerospace/STEM education program that is part of criteria for the Quality Cadet Unit Award. The unit AEO or the unit commander enrolls in the program and ensures cadets and/or senior members participate in six aerospace/STEM activities and an additional two-hour activity (such as building and launching rockets or taking a field trip to an airport or air/space museum). When the program is completed, the senior member who enrolled in the program completes the award report located in eServices. Reports are submitted to National Headquarters at aex@capnhq.gov. Units that complete the requirements receive AEX certificates from NHQ. Conducting these activities fosters group interaction and socialization, and can generate great excitement for aerospace/STEM education within the unit.
