Encampment Handbooks

From CAPP 60-70, 1.4 a. Cadet Encampment Handbook. This pocket-sized publication supplements the encampment’s academic program. It is a resource for “hip pocket training” to transform downtime into productive time. Each encampment selects knowledge items and memory work from the handbook and holds students accountable for that information under deadlines the encampment sets. The handbook includes short readings, illustrations, and other content in all four areas of the cadet program – leadership, aerospace, fitness, and character. Also included are basic safety rules and a chain of command diagram, with space to customize those two sections to match local needs. NHQ provides encampments with one Cadet Encampment Handbook per participant, upon request (please order 6 weeks in advance). Note that the handbook is not a substitute for a dormitory guide or standard operating procedures.
