TLC On Demand

Launched 18 June 2025!

Important Information

Format:  A fully online, self-paced pathway to TLC credit. Participants complete 10 online modules and receive TLC On Demand credit. Course is located in Absorb.

  • Participants complete 4 modules in Youth Development Fundamentals and 6 modules in Cadet Programs Essentials.

  • Participants have a choice in what modules they choose in each section

  • Participants may receive credit for other Cadet Programs training they complete (restrictions apply), including the Youth Development Conference, RST, etc.

  • Participants must complete 10 modules within 36 months of the first module

Outcome:  Adult leaders are prepared to lead a quality youth development program.

Target Audience:

  • Adult volunteers looking to expand their knowledge in Cadet Programs and youth development topics.

  • Experienced CP officers seeking refresher training

  • Any adult member who cannot get to another TLC course

Note:

  • For Unit-level Standard of Training

    • CAPR 60-1, Section 2.3.2.5: Standard of Training – Unit Level. Because the Cadet Program cannot succeed without adult leadership, every cadet and composite squadron or flight shall have at least two members who hold a current credential in a TLC course (any level).

    • Members may complete any TLC course for this requirement. TLC On Demand is included in that (along side TLC Basic, TLC Intermediate, and TLC Advanced) and would count for this compliance and for QCUA.

  • If you are enrolled in a specialty track (CP, Command, Chaplain, etc), you will need to complete the course that is specifically listed for that level and track. This also applies if you are tasked with taking a specific course.

    • Example: If you are working towards your Tech in CP, you will need to complete TLC Basic, because TLC Basic is specifically listed in the training requirements.

  • TLC On Demand is not a substitute for any other TLC course, and cannot be "swapped out" for a specific course. TLC On Demand is a different course than TLC Basic, TLC Intermediate and TLC Advanced, with different content and different crediting.

Important Information

Enrollment

  • You must enroll in TLC On Demand in Absorb prior to taking any course, if you'd like TLC On Demand credit.

    • EXAMPLE: if you would like TLC OnDemand credit for RST, then you need to enroll in TLC On Demand before you start RST. If you don't, the system will not acknowledge the credit in TLC-OD.

  • A best practice is to just always be enrolled in TLC On Demand. Once you finish an instance, just re-enroll immediately.

  • For more details on enrollment, visit the User Guide.

Crediting

  • Once you complete 4 modules in Youth Development Fundamentals and 6 modules in Cadet Programs Essentials TLC-OD credit will automatically be applied to your eServices Training Record.

    • If you wish to continue taking more modules, be sure to log out of TLC-OD and then re-enroll, so the next modules are applied to your next instance of TLC-OD.

  •  TLC On Demand credit will appear in the Training Record, TLC Progression Report, Commander’s Dashboard, etc. same as any other TLC course.
