Operation Pulse Lift - "Hometown" Blood Collection Centers

The Operation Pulse Lift's "Hometown" Volunteer blood collection center initiative is a means for individual Civil Air Patrol (CAP) members to participate in the nation-wide blood mission. All members have to do is reach out to their nearest blood or platelet collection center, or military installation that hosts a fixed Blood Donor Center (BDC), and sign up to volunteer their time assisting in the agencies blood collection activities. These are all non-clinical duties unless the member chooses to (as a volunteer for that agency) train to perform other duties. While not covered under the Operation Pulse Lift mission number it is still part of the ongoing effort of CAP's on-going mission as volunteers serving America's communities at a "Hometown" center.

As a participant in this initiative, you and your fellow CAP members are eligible to earn CAP's coveted, and (below) mission supported, Community Service Ribbon. The ribbon is awarded to senior and cadet members who complete 60 hours of community service. The community service is done outside of the CAP unit and is verified and awarded by the individual's Wing Commander. CAP headquarters has now authorized to wear of a bronze device for every additional 60 hours of community service.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate reaching out to Operation Pulse Lift at or call (480) 298-2603.
