Operational Security (OPSEC)
OPSEC (Operational Security) is a key process for protecting sensitive information that, if compromised, could threaten the operations or missions of CAP or other agencies. All CAP members are required to complete OPSEC training before accessing eServices, and the training is provided on the CAP eLearning Platform.

AFI 10-701 Definition of OPSEC
As defined by AFI 10-701, OPSEC is the process of identifying, analyzing, and controlling critical information related to operations and activities. The goal is to protect against adversarial exploitation by:
-
Identifying Actions: Recognize actions that can be observed by outside personnel.
-
Analyzing Intelligence: Determine what indicators adversary intelligence might collect and how these could be used to derive critical information.
-
Mitigating Vulnerabilities: Select and execute measures that reduce the risk of exploitation of friendly actions by adversaries.
Sensitive information must not be released to anyone who does not have a valid "need to know."
