Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in CAP
The Civil Air Patrol Foundation Diversity Scholarship is your pathway to realizing your potential within CAP, irrespective of your background or resources. We believe in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels within CAP, and this scholarship is a testament to that commitment. It was created to facilitate the ability of CAP Cadets and Senior Members from historically underrepresented, underserved, and under-resourced communities to access ... and participate in CAP activities. Our goal is to spend 10% annually to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within CAP.
Why the CAP Foundation Diversity Scholarship?
1. Empowering Diverse Voices: We aim to assist and encourage qualified CAP members from diverse backgrounds to participate in CAP activities and programs at various levels. From local units to Wing, Region, and National activities, our scholarship opens doors to leadership, learning, and growth.
2. Fostering Leadership: We are ... dedicated to helping members from diverse identity groups who aspire to lead within CAP. We provide the financial support needed to turn aspirations into realities.
3. Breaking Down Barriers: Our scholarship acts as a recruitment and retention tool for squadrons supporting historically underrepresented communities. We understand the initial hurdles faced, from membership fees to uniform costs, and we're here to help you overcome them.

Many other excellent scholarship opportunities exist for CAP cadets. Though not affiliated with CAP, many CAP cadets have benefited from these opportunities.
Academic
ROTC Scholarships - Each military service provides a tuition-free education at hundreds of colleges across the country. In exchange for the education, cadets commit to at least 4 years of active duty, longer for pilots and other careers.

Cadets that are in ROTC, as sophomores and juniors, can apply for the AFCEA ROTC Scholarship. You must have your Detachment Commander's endorsement.

Civil Air Patrol’s (CAP) Flight Scholarship Program (FSP)
Each year CAP offers small awards to help cadets pursue aviation goals. The funds can be used for anything related to aviation including ground school. For example it can be used for national or local flight academy tuition, or transport to or from the academy, or hours towards any pilot certificate with CAP or non-CAP
Become a Cadet Scholarship Supporter!
As part of CAP's 2024 National Conference, we invite you to donate to support cadet scholarships. Donate $25 or more, and you will be eligible to wear a special ribbon designating you as a "Scholarship Supporter" during the event. Stop by the Development booth at conference to pick up your ribbon.

Must submit at least one but not more than three letters of recommendation written by someone who is familiar with the cadets' accomplishments in CAP. If you have multiple documents of the same type, combine them all into one document before upload.

CAP Cadet ... Academic Scholarships includes Board of Governors Academic Scholarship
Academic scholarships are monetary awards used to support CAP Cadets pursuing their undergraduate or graduate education. Monies are to be used for tuition, books, or room and board at any post-secondary school (i.e: college, university, vocational-technical school, etc.). Scholarship recipients must ensure that the money is used responsibly. Applicants may pursue any course of study. This year, scholarships will be made in varying amounts ... from $1,000 to $2,500.

An academic scholarship to support cadets pursuing their undergraduate or graduate education. Lt Col Dan Roman Memorial NCSA Activity Scholarship
Amount/Quantity: Activity fee awarded to 2 cadets (only activity fee).
Activity Type: This activity scholarship applies to cadets attending National Blue Beret.

Malcolm Kyser Memorial NESA Scholarship
Amount/Quantity: Activity fee awarded to 1 cadet (only activity fee)
Activity Type: This activity scholarship applies to cadets ... attending National Emergency Services Academy (NESA)
Other criteria: Applicants are vetted by the NESA staff and should have an interest in communications
Air Race Classic, Inc. Flight Academy Scholarship
Amount/Quantity: Activity fee awarded to 1 cadet (only activity fee)
Activity Type: This activity scholarship applies to female cadets attending a National Flight Academy

Aerospace/STEM educators are invited to apply for an AOPA flight training scholarship supported by AOPA Foundation funds, and the deadlines are approaching. Eligible educators are those who are teaching the AOPA High School Aviation STEM Curriculum and are interested in pursuing a primary pilot certificate such a as private, sport or recreational pilot certificate. These awards, up to 20 scholarships of $10,000, are a benefit of AOPA membership
In addition, AOPA offers 80 $10,000 scholarships to students ... ages 15-18.

To receive priority consideration, flight training scholarship applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) Sunday, March 1. The final deadline for scholarship applications is Sunday, March 15, at 11:59 p.m.

BASIC ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The following criteria apply to all scholarships and programs. Additional criteria will be noted within the specifics of an individual scholarship's or program's description.
Be a current CAP Cadet thru 31 December (current year).
Be enrolled in a course of study during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.
Possess and maintain an academic and discipline standard acceptable to the school you attend ... .
Have NOT been a previous recipient for the scholarship or program to which you are applying. For example, if you received a CAP Academic Scholarship previously, this year you may apply for the USAA Academic scholarship or another named academic scholarship, or any flight scholarship, but you may not apply for the CAP Academic Scholarship again.
HOW TO APPLY
Log on to e-Services.
Click on the "menu" on the top left corner. Click on "Cadet Programs". Under Applications ... ), and additional required documents as applicable. Each document must be in PDF format. If you have multiple documents of the same type, combine them all into one document before upload. Each scholarship or financial assistance program has different document requirements. Be sure to check the instructions for EACH scholarship or financial assistance program to which you are applying for document requirements. Title your document “LastNameCAPIDDocName.” For example, your resume would be, &ldquo
