Civil Air Patrol operates the world’s largest fleet of single-engine piston aircraft and needs a steady stream of pilots, observers, scanners, photographers, ground crew, and others. Combine your love of aviation with community service and become a volunteer with us.

Basic Pilot Requirements:

🛩️ be a current, active CAP member at least 17 years of age

🛩️ possess a valid FAA private, commercial, or airline transport pilot certificate

🛩️ possess a valid FAA Class III or higher medical certificate or BasicMed (not required for gliders)

🛩️ possess a current flight review per 14 CFR section 61.56

humanitarian relief efforts
homeland security and search and rescue
aerospace and STEM education
youth aviation initiatives and orientation flights

We’re also looking for certificated flight instructors to help keep our pilots current and provide primary and instrument training for our cadets.
