Pre NXi G1000 CO Guardian potentially not enabled
In recent weeks, we have identified several CO Guardian systems that were not enabled or installed on our fleet of G1000 aircraft. To address this, we are implementing a one-time inspection of all Pre NXi G1000 aircraft in the CAP fleet
Each aircraft must be inspected before its next flight by either a pilot or AMO to confirm whether the CO Guardian system is enabled.
A discrepancy for this requirement is being entered in AMRAD for all affected aircraft.
How to Verify CO Guardian Status:
-
G1000 Nav III aircraft: Go to the AUX – SYSTEM STATUS page on the MFD in pilot mode. The CO Guardian will show a green check mark if it is enabled.
Reference photos are provided below. Please record the results of your inspection in the discrepancy sign-off.

If the CO Guardian system is not enabled or installed, the AMO must create a new discrepancy in AMRAD for this condition and placard the CO Guardian system as inoperative before the next flight. Be sure to include the new discrepancy WOCN number in the one-time inspection sign-off so it can be tracked by NHQ.
Please coordinate with your NHQ Maintenance Coordinator to schedule these aircraft into an avionics shop and have the system repaired within 30 days. This work should take one hour or less per aircraft once delivered to the shop.
