CAP Member Helps Students Launch Rockets
When the 8th grade science class of AEM Kathy Francis was ready for its outdoor rocket launch, CAP Lt. Col. Michael Castania was there to help. The students in the Manasquan, N.J., St. Denis School built and customized rockets using two two-liter soda bottles, glue, tape and other accessories. "Personally, I have always been doing STEM activities in my classroom, but this summer I had the opportunity to fly with the Civil Air Patrol, and I was hooked," Francis told the Star News Group in a story published Nov. 20.
Castania was on hand to help the students launch their rockets in a local park. He called it "a great way to expose the kids to an aerospace education." To see the full story, go to Star News Group.
