Maryland Wing Cadets Advance To National UAS4STEM Competition
Two teams from the St. Mary's Composite Squadron captured second and third places in the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) Regional UAS4STEM "Quadzilla" Competition. Fifteen teams competed in the competition, held April 29 at Helwig Field in Maryland, home to the Patuxent Aeromodelers. The teams will move on to the National Competition at AMA headquarters in Muncie, Indiana in August.
The AMA's UAS4STEM program, presented by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, is designed to encourage students to explore the sUAS phenomenon through teamwork, competition and success through STEM. Participants ages 11-19 in teams of four to eight members perform a mock rescue mission with a Quadzilla quadcopter.
HTii Proven Data Solutions sponsored the two teams. READ MORE.
