Solar Impulse

June 2, 2014

Solar impulse, a developer of solar-powered flight, is one step closer to its 2015 goal of attempting the first round-the-world solar powered flight. On June 2 the solar-powered Solar Impulse 2 completed a 2 hour, 17 minute flight from the Payerne aerodrome in Switzerland. The organization, according to its website, is the vision of pilots Bertrand Piccard and Andrew Borschberg to show the possibilities of an aircraft that uses alternative energy sources and new technologies without polluting the environment.
