Cadet Flying, Textbooks & Uniform Shipments on Hold

Posted on October 31, 2011 at 12:00 AM by Steven Trupp

Because the Congress has not yet passed the 2012 budget, CAP is having to put a temporary hold on cadet flying and the shipment of textbooks and uniforms that normally follows soon after a cadet joins CAP. The budget situation does not affect Vanguard purchases. We are sorry for the inconvenience this causes new cadets.

Cadets may download their textbooks for free at and study the electronic editions for now. Once Congress passes a budget, we’ll resume textbook and uniform shipments, beginning with the back orders.  Please watch the Cadet Blog (, our Facebook (CAP Cadet Programs), or Twitter (@CAPCadetTeam) for developments.

More information is available via a press release here:

We ask unit commanders to make an extra effort and do what they can to help new cadets get off to a good start in CAP, despite this temporary inconvenience.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
