Cadet Flying, Textbooks & Uniform Shipments on Hold
Posted on October 31, 2011 at 12:00 AM by Steven Trupp
Because the Congress has not yet passed the 2012 budget, CAP is having to put a temporary hold on cadet flying and the shipment of textbooks and uniforms that normally follows soon after a cadet joins CAP. The budget situation does not affect Vanguard purchases. We are sorry for the inconvenience this causes new cadets.
Cadets may download their textbooks for free at capmembers.com/newcadet and study the electronic editions for now. Once Congress passes a budget, we’ll resume textbook and uniform shipments, beginning with the back orders. Please watch the Cadet Blog (capmembers.com/cadets), our Facebook (CAP Cadet Programs), or Twitter (@CAPCadetTeam) for developments.
More information is available via a press release here:

We ask unit commanders to make an extra effort and do what they can to help new cadets get off to a good start in CAP, despite this temporary inconvenience.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Sincerely,
- CAP National Cadet Team
