Medal of Honor Character Lessons

The goal of the Cadet Program's character element is to develop in cadets an ability to think critically about moral and ethical issues, and the commitment to live CAP's Core Values.
The Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation has put together an outstanding character development program, Medal of Honor: Lessons of Personal Bravery and Self-Sacrifice. This resource has 57 lessons that provide cadets with opportunities to explore the important concepts of courage, commitment, sacrifice, patriotism, integrity, and citizenship and how these values can be exemplified in daily life. The video vignettes of Medal of Honor recipients and accompanying lesson plans are high quality and affecting.
We’d like to encourage all members to take a look at the fantastic materials and consider incorporating a few lessons into your character development schedule. The lessons found in the Medal of Honor curriculum may be used to supplement the usual character forums at weekly meetings. These lessons will count towards monthly contact hours and cadet participation counts towards promotion.
