CAPM 36-2203 Update

Posted on February 5, 2016 at 12:00 AM by Joanna Lee

Read the first blog post on CAPM 36-2203 for context.

Okay, drill fans.  I’ve taken a lot of the feedback you’ve sent me or blogged.  I appreciate the opinions of those who don’t believe we need a CAP D&C Manual, but I’ve made my argument to NHQ and it’s ultimately in their hands.  For what it’s worth, I can convert this into one or more Supplements, but that just makes cadets look in multiple places for the correct way to do things, instead of having one basic reference.

Here’s a cleaned up version with the changes I made.

Some of the major changes I made in the past couple of weeks (in addition to lots of minor changes) are:
  • Formatting errors fixed throughout
  • Added “In Cadence” as a drill teaching tool
  • Open Ranks March (having 1st Element always take 3 paces, no matter how many elements there are)
  • Changed some wording on Counter March, Marching at Other than Attention, Rest Positions, Fall In, Saluting
  • Added another PT formation method
  • Added Change of Command Ceremony details
  • Attachment containing a Quick Guide to Forming & Dismissing Squadrons
  • Updated some of the pictures
It’s not quite done yet (a couple people have promised/offered to send me something to add), but it’s close.  If you have content or format related input for me, please get it to me ASAP.

Thank you.

Lt Col Grace Edinboro, CAP

Drill and Ceremonies Training Coordinator, NHQ
