2015/2016 DDR Speech Contest Winners

 

 

 

Congratulations to the winners of the 2015/2016 DDR Speech Contest!  Thanks to the cadets who participated in the contest and also to the mentors who assisted the cadets in developing their excellent speeches.  Fear of public speaking is consistently shown to be people’s greatest  fear, yet is a vital skill for effective leaders.  The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program transforms youth into dynamic Americans and aerospace leaders.  One way it does this is by challenging cadets to step outside their comfort zone and providing opportunities to develop verbal communication skills.  CAP strives to teach our cadets and senior members to make responsible choices and to help reduce the demand for illegal and illicit drugs in America.  The DDR Speech Contest brings together these missions and helps to develop young people of character.  Again, congratulations to our winners for embracing the challenge!
