2016-2017 Quality Cadet Unit Award Reminder
Posted on August 24, 2017 at 12:00 AM by Joanna Lee
We’re one week away from the close of the 2016-2017 Quality Cadet Unit award year. If you haven’t checked your squadron’s stats recently, I’d like to invite you to do so now. Cadet and composite units of 10 or more cadets that have met 6 of 11 criteria on 31 August will earn the Quality Cadet Unit Award.
Check your report:
eServices > Member Reports > Quality Cadet Unit Report
Timeline
Date |
Deadline |
---|---|
31 August |
All activities must be completed. |
7 September |
NHQ will pull and analyze QCUA data. Preliminary results will be sent to commanders for review. |
18 September |
Official list of winners posted, certificates mailed to wing headquarters for presentation at a suitable venue. |
The award criteria are entirely objective and pulled directly from eServices. However, if you find that you aren’t seeing credit you should have it may be for one of these frequent reasons:
-
STEM kit- Credit appears after completing the after-action report in eServices. Report must be completed by the person who ordered the kit. If your kit was ordered by a member of another unit, or ordered for a middle school, the credit might not appear correctly.
-
RRLA- Credit appears after completing the after activity report in eServices. If it’s not displaying, please try changing the name of the activity in section “a” to “Red Ribbon Leadership Academy” and ensuring that the Red Ribbon Leadership Academy box in section “l” is checked, then refresh the report.
-
Encampment- Encampment credit is granted to cadets by the encampment commander or designee completing the encampment reporting module in eServices. If a cadet isn’t showing participation credit, please contact the encampment staff.
-
Enrollment, Growth & Retention- Data is based off of the values of 31 August. Numbers may be different on 1 September as August non-renewals will not appear.
-
CyberPatriot- Credit is granted for units that scored points in round one or two of CyberPatriot IX and registered with the Cyber Programs team. Registration for CyberPatriot X does not count towards the 2016-2017 award year. For teams that participated in CyberPatriot IX and do not see the credit reflected on the report, please send proof of participation to jlee@capnhq.gov.
To resolve an issue, please email jlee@capnhq.gov, including QCUA in the subject line. Please note that due to the timing of the CAP National Conference, cadet programs staff will be unavailable to make changes to the reports between 24 August and 5 September. Adjustments will be made in early September. No unit that has earned the award will be denied due to credit not appearing on the report by 31 August. Thank you for your patience and for all your hard work this past year. Thank you for supporting the cadets.
