Military Teen Ambassador Opportunity

Posted on May 18, 2022 at 1:42 PM by Joanna Lee

CAP partners, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, are hosting a Military Teen Ambassador Think Tank in July and looking for CAP cadets to participate.  Travel to Anaheim, California to share your experiences and perspective with other youth from around the country and help shape programing for the future.  4 cadets and 2 seniors will be selected to bring the CAP perspective to the Think Tank and then participate in the Keystone leadership conference.  Apply now for this premier leadership event.

Military Teen Ambassador Overview

The Military & Outreach Services department answers the call of duty by supporting and advocating for military-connected youth. Over the last 10 years the Military Teen Ambassador (MTA) program has evolved from a once a year in-person training to a year-round program that includes a MTA Steering Committee, mentorship opportunities, program engagement through youth centered activities, a yearly in-person training in conjunction with the BGCA National Keystone Conference, and post training activities conducted by participants at their individual installations which support the grant focus areas.

Military Teen Ambassador Think Tank

The MTA program prides itself in ensuring that all content and delivery of information is created by teens and advisors for teens and advisors. The 2022 MTA Think Tank experience will bring teens and advisors from all Branches of the Services and Outreach Partners to the table to envision and develop the future of Military-connected opportunities. The group will participate in large group activities and smaller group discussion groups. The discussion topics are as follows:

  • 2023 Military Teen Ambassador Training

  • 2023 Military Teen Summit

  • MyFuture engagement and activations

  • Marketing to Military-connected teens

    • On-Installation

    • Army National Guard

    • Army Reserve

    • Civil Air Patrol

  • Military Youth of the Year engagement and activations

  • Military Teen Ambassador Club Pilot Project

  • Future Military-connected teen opportunities

This experience is fully funded by the Fluor Foundation. All expenses for advisors and teens will be covered for the duration of the experience. Logistical information is provided below.
