Update to CAPF 60-81, Application for Encampment
Posted on January 10, 2024 at 3:54 PM by Joanna Lee
We are pleased to inform you about an important update to the CAPF 60-81, Application for Encampment. While no substantive changes have been made, this refreshed form will make the application process for encampments, National Cadet Special Activities, and Cadet Special Activities smoother and more efficient, allowing cadets and seniors alike to better focus on the exciting experiences that lie ahead.
Immediate Use: The new Jan 24 CAPF 60-81 is available now and will be used for all activities which have not yet begun collecting applications. Winter or early spring activities may proceed as planned, as the Jun 19 form remains valid through April 1st, 2024. After 1 April 2024 only the Jan 24 version of the form will be authorized.
Streamlined Signatures: One of the most significant improvements to the form is the removal of the optional signature blocks for Group and Wing. These blocks, no longer required, occasionally caused delays in cadet applications due to extra routing time. The updated form requires only the applicant, parent/guardian, and squadron commander signatures, as is consistent with CAPR 60-1, Cadet Programs Management.
Optimized Information: The application form has been consolidated to a single page, facilitating ease of printing. To that end, minor changes have been made in the application’s fields. Notably, religious preference, emergency contact details, and applicant releases have been removed, while a field for parent/guardian email has been added.
Form Usage Clarification: Please note that CAPF 60-81 is to be used exclusively for wing encampments, NCSAs, and CSAs. For all other activities, including local events, use CAPF 60-80, Civil Air Patrol Cadet Activity Permission Slip, and/or the Registration Zone in eServices. Local versions, including adaptations into online registration systems, are permitted.
Thank you for supporting the cadets!
